CAD Design Engineer required with a background in CAD Design for electrical transmission/power distribution or renewables or civil engineer/utility projects and strong skills in 2D CAD and 3D CAD design with AutoCAD Civil and/or MicroStation to produce high-quality drawings working with engineers is required by world-leading transmission and distribution engineering consultancy, which is on a mission to enhance network capacity and support the transition to net zero by 2050.
This role is remote base in the UK or hybrid opportunities in Sussex.
Salary £45-65k + Benefits + Bonus
Key skills for the Role of CAD Designer would include
- Strong Expertise in producing CAD outputs with packages such as AutoCAD (ideally AutoCAD Civil 3-D) and/or MicroStation.
- Proven experience in 2D and 3D CAD Design, CAD Models and drafting
- Experience in CAD Design for power transmission, renewables, utilities or civil engineering projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
Desireable skills for the CAD Designer would include
- Post-school level education achievements in a relevant area for delivering engineering CAD outputs.
- Experience of CAD Design for OHL design, Overhead line, high voltage cabling, substations, UHV cabling
- Awareness of Building Information Modelling (BIM).
- Ability to work maturely in a diverse team.
- The primary goal is to deliver high-quality drawings, design deliverables, and documents as directed by engineers and designers, adhering to engineering procedures and guidance notes.
Key Responsibilities as the CAD Designer would include:
- Produce CAD models in AutoCAD Civil 3-D to support engineering studies and construction activities.
- Create drawings, sketches, and reports to effectively communicate engineering outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure the quality of all deliverables before passing them on for review.
- Strive to complete all assigned work within the agreed budget and programme.
- Stay updated with all technical quality management procedures, developments, and specifications related to the discipline work scope.
