A global leader in energy engineering and consulting requires experienced Project Managers with a background delivering OHL / Overheadlines / extra-high-voltage cables, 400kV, 132kV, 275kV, or 30kV for large-scale electrical transmission and distribution projects, having worked with Distribution Network Operators or Wind Farm OR EV Projects. The Project manager must have managed end-to-end electrical infrastructure projects from bid to delivery, ensuring safety, financial compliance, and timeliness.
Location: Home-based in Scotland, in Glasgow, Scottish Central Belt or Argyll and Bute, with travel, there are multiple roles. Proximity to Glasgow would be helpful.
Circa Salary £65-100k + Car Allow + Bens + Bonus to 20%
Key skills required for the Project Manager – OHL / Overhead Lines
- Proven skills in the Project Management of EHV OHL / Overhead lines / overhead transmission lines, Underground Cabling electrical infrastructure transmission & Distribution / T&D, Wind Farm / EV projects.
- Ideal background would be from a T&D consultancy, or network operator background.
- Engineering qualification (HND/HNC) or equivalent industry track record.
- Project management qualification (APM or similar)
- Understanding of Engineering principles, CDM / Construction Design and Management guidelines, and Cabling Installation techniques.
- Recognised SHE qualification (IOSH or NEBOSH).
- Experience with SSEN, NGET, and other Distribution Network Operators.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness, including knowledge of NEC contracts
Project Manager – OHL / Overhead Lines / Cabling would include :
- Ensure successful delivery of all project stages of EHV OHL cable implementations to meet the key programme milestones.
- Support and prepare for the mobilisation of new projects.
- Approve scope of works, plans, and estimates for project elements.
- Ensure team consistency in project controls, including PMP, QA/QC, and CPP.
- Manage project resources, risk & change management, EVM analysis, budget control, and cash flow.
- Promote a high standard of project programming and produce monthly reports.
- Resolve project issues and challenges effectively.
- Provide guidance and leadership, acting as a troubleshooter when necessary.
- Demonstrate effective SHE leadership and promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with NEC Contract terms and conditions, scope of work, and variations log.
- Manage the Programme of Works, Quality Plan, and Project Risk Register.
- Uphold company values and standards, demonstrating safety, integrity, and commitment.
